Isla Vista Recreation & Park District (IVRPD) will host a reception to celebrate completion of improvements to the local Peace Disc Golf Course, 3-4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30 at Sueno Orchard park.

The free, outdoor event will offer snacks, drinks, and an opportunity for disc golfers and community members to come together in recognition of this improvement to Isla Vista’s recreation infrastructure.

“Our district is proud to announce that all nine tee pads have been renovated to improve the disc golf experience of our celebrated Peace Course which winds through Sueno Orchard and Estero Park,” said Luis Valerio.

“New signage will also help disc golfers who are new to the area find their way around the course,” he said.

The project has been approved by the IVRPD Board of Directors following public comments and recommendations from the disc golf community.
