Four people were taken by ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital on Saturday after a multi-vehicle crash on southbound Highway 101 along the Gaviota Coast.
A white Toyota Camry flipped onto its roof and ended up in the center median, and at least four other vehicles were involved in the crash, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The four patients all sustained minor injuries, according to Capt. Sam Ferguson of the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
Their names and details on their conditions were not available.
The incident happened at about 8:30 a.m. near Refugio State Beach, and led to the shutdown of the left-hand lane in the area for a time.
The lane was reopened shortly before 10 a.m.
The cause of the crash was under investigation by the CHP.
Several other crashes occurred Saturday throughout the county as motorists contended with rain-slickened roadways, but no serious injuries were reported.
