A number of holiday and makers markets are popping up around Santa Barbara, giving residents and visitors places to buy unique gifts while getting a break from big box stores and online shopping. 

Every Sunday, residents can find the Santa Barbara Arts and Crafts Show on Cabrillo Boulevard from Stearns Wharf to Calle Cesar Chavez. For Thanksgiving weekend there will be a special arts and crafts show on Saturday from 10 a.m. to dusk. Vendors will be selling handcrafted items and artwork. 

A makers hive market will be at Paseo Nuevo on Nov. 30 from noon to 8 p.m. with over 35 local markers and small business along with a tree lighting at 6 p.m. 

The Community Environmental Council and Beachside Babes Market is hosting a green holiday market on Dec. 4 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Community Environmental Council Hub at 1219 State St. The market will include eco-friendly shopping, sustainably made gifts including jewelry, ceramics, and paper goods. The event will also include flash tattoos, crafting stations, gift wrapping from local Girl Scouts, and hot chocolate and cider. 

If you’ve ever needed an excuse to visit the Santa Barbara Mission during the holidays, Dec. 5 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. is your chance. The courtyard will be full of drinks from local wineries and breweries and food from local vendors with chances to do some holiday shopping. The event costs $50 per person. 

Homespun Santa Barbara will host a makers market on Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 631 Garden St. with handmade goods made by Southern California artists including skincare, clothes, ceramics, jewelry, leatherwork, and woodwork. 

American Indian Health and Services is hosting an Indigenous market on Dec. 6 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 3227 State St. The free market will showcase local native artist selling homemade art, jewelry and crafts, and it will include traditional native dancers, tacos, and music. 

Mujeres Makers Market will have a two-day festive market with items made and curated by women of color, music, a holiday gift drive, and creative workshops on Dec. 6-7 at 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 123 E Canon Perdido St. in Santa Barbara.

Meet Me at the Market is hosting a holiday sip and shop at Pali Wine Co.’s wine garden where shoppers will be able to find unique gifts and handmade goods on Dec. 7 from noon to 5 p.m. at 205 Anacapa St.

The Santa Barbara Tennis Club’s annual holiday boutique will include family activities, baby goats, seasonal produce and garden tips, and handcrafted items from local vendors on Dec. 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 2375 Foothill Road.

The Space is presenting a Winter Solstice Indigenous Market on Dec. 14 at 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. with Indigenous artisans and allies at Casa De La Guerra at 15 E De La Guerra St.

Farmer and The Flea is hosting a Community Holiday Market with over 70 local artisan vendors selling handmade home decor, art, seasonal treats, vintage finds, and other items on Dec. 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation at 123 E Canon Perdido St.
