Santa Barbara Education Foundation (SBEF) will honor individuals and programs making strides to help Santa Barbara’s students reach their full potential at the Hope Awards, 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at the Santa Barbara Historical Museum, 136 E. De La Guerra St.

Geoff Green, former Santa Barbara City College Foundation CEO, will be honored for his leadership in spearheading initiatives benefiting students like the SBCC Promise, which provides free college for local high school graduates.

99.9 KTYD will be honored for its advocacy and dedication to school music education with its partnership with the SBEF’s Keep The Beat program.

The Hope Awards, hosted by SBEF, honors local heroes of public education. The event features a reception with food and beverages from local caterers, restaurants, wineries and breweries, followed by the Hope Awards program.

The event will highlight the impact of teachers in our community, with proceeds from the evening supporting SBEF’s Teacher Grants program.
