If you’re thinking Santa Barbara County has seen just about enough rain at this point, well, Mother Nature has other ideas.
With the county already at 213% of normal precipitation to date for the rain year that began Sept. 1, forecasters are expecting yet another storm to hit the region Tuesday night into Thursday morning.
The latest weather system — described by the National Weather Service as “a weak to moderate atmospheric river” — is expected to drop a half-inch to an inch of rain in coastal and valley locations, and up to 2 inches in the mountains.
Periods of moderate to heavy rainfall are possible, with a chance of small stream and urban flooding.
There is a 90% chance of rain Tuesday night, 40% on Wednesday and 80% Wednesday night, the weather service said Sunday evening.
A chance of showers and thundershowers will linger into Thursday, when skies are expected to gradually clear.
Sunny conditions are expected for the weekend.
Daytime highs should be in the low 60s Monday and Tuesday, dropping to the upper 50s for the remainder of the week, before rebounding a bit on the weekend.
Overnight lows are expected in the mid- to upper 40s.
