Dianne Travis-Teague has joined the Board of Directors of Hospice of Santa Barbara (HSB). She brings knowledge and experience in nonprofits and education to her new position.
“Dianne has shown to be greatly passionate about education and helping others,” said David Selberg, Hospice of Santa Barbara CEO. “Community education and promoting knowledge surrounding loss and bereavement is key to serving our community, making Dianne invaluable in achieving Hospice of Santa Barbara’s mission.”
As director of alumni relations for Pacifica Graduate Institute, Travis-Teague has created and maintained pathways for alumni participation. She has capabilities in a number of areas, such as project management, financial analysis, training, team-building and mentoring.
Travis-Teague earned a bachelor of science in business management and marketing at Northwestern University in Illinois.
A two-time survivor of breast cancer who is living with heart disease, she actively participates in community service. This includes being a national spokeswoman for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the Avon Foundation for Women: Breast Cancer Crusade, the National Breast Cancer Foundation, WomenHeart (the National Coalition for Women Living with Heart Disease), Mended Hearts, Inc., and the Women’s Heart Center.
Travis-Teague hopes to leave a legacy that exemplifies the words of poet Maya Angelou: “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
