A scorching day is in the forecast for Santa Barbara County on Sunday, with gusty winds expected during the evening and overnight hours.
A high of 87 was predicted for the Santa Barbara area and the Santa Ynez Valley, according to the National Weather Service.
However, the Lompoc and Santa Maria valleys should only see highs in the low-70s.
A wind advisory will be in effect from 5 p.m. Sunday until 6 a.m. Monday, and is calling for north winds of 20-30 mph, with gusts to 50 mph.
Affected areas include the Gaviota coast, the Santa Ynez Mountains, Jalama Beach and San Marcos Pass.
Fire officials warned that the hot and windy condtions created an elevated potential for wildfires.
