Miguel Santos paced a hot-hitting Santa Barbara Foresters baseball team to a 13-3 victory over the Conejo Oaks on Sunday at Pershing Park.
The shortstop from Dallas Baptist went 4 for 5, including a two-run homer in the third inning to get the Foresters going. He finished the game with three RBI.
The Foresters (13-7) hammered out 14 hits, with Gavin Kash, Jack Holman and Austin Stracener each collecting two hits. Holman and Will Pendergrass each had three RBI and Stracener drove in two runs.
David Shaw started on the mound and struck out eight in 5.1 innings. Nick Griffin picked up the win in relief, shutting down the Oaks after Jake Feherty got into a jam in the sixth. Alec Grossman threw two perfect innings to finish the game.
The Foresters’ traditional Fourth of July game begins at Pershing Park at 4:30 p.m.
