“I was hitting the ball really well,” Vedder said of his Sunday performance. “I was hitting a lot of fairways and my wedges and irons were just going inside 10 feet, and my putter was working really well.

“I ended up making one mistake with the bogey, but I did have 10 birdies to back it up, so I played well, I’m happy about it.”

He followed up Sunday’s performance by shooting one under on Monday to finish at 10-under-par, pull out the victory and collect the $700 purse. It was his second time playing in the Santa Barbara Championship after he missed the cut three years ago.

“It feels amazing and I’m super happy,” Vedder said. “I’ve put in a lot of work. My last four rounds, I’ve shot three or four under on the front nine and blew up on the back, so yesterday I just held it together and finished strong today.
