Hugh Sutherland and Connor MacPherson won an all-Dos Pueblos Channel League doubles final Wednesday, beating No.1-seeded teammates Daniel Truong and Keaton Cross, 3-6, 6-3, 11-9.

Sutherland and MacPherson were the tournament’s No. 3 seeds, but upset the top seeded Charger team — Truong and Cross had a dominant season — in a thrilling come-from-behind match.

“I am so proud of how these two doubles teams played throughout the entire tournament,” Dos Pueblos coach Laura Housinger said. “Even though they were both seeded, they knew if they played each other that it would be a very close match, which was evident by a 11-9 tiebreaker for the third set. We look forward to more tennis in CIF later this month!”

The two Charger doubles teams had earlier won semifinal matches against teams from San Marcos in close matches.
