The northbound No. 1 (left) lane of US Highway 101 at the Gaviota Tunnel will be closed 6 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday, March 23 through Friday, March 27, weather permitting. The lane closure is part of an emergency contract so that Caltrans can repair a drainage system and perform erosion control near an embankment.

As a result of this roadwork, the US 101 Gaviota Roadside Rest Areas will be closed 24/7, Monday, March 23 through Friday, March 27.

The contractor for this $1 million project, which includes construction in various locations, is Granite Construction of Santa Barbara.
