One person was seriously injured Tuesday when a vehicle veered off a roadway and down an embankment near Los Alamos, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
Firefighters and other emergency personnel were dispatched at about 7:25 a.m. to the crash scene on Harris Grade Road, just south of Highway 135, said fire Capt. Daniel Bertucelli.
The vehicle came to rest on its roof about 100 feet down the embankment, Bertucelli said.
Firefighters set up a rope system to bring the patient back to the roadway.
The victim was then transported by AMR ambulance to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria with moderate injuries, Bertucelli said.
The patient’s name and details on their condition were not available.
The crash was under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
