The Santa Barbara International Film Festival (SBIFF) will offer a special five-week presentation of all five films in Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story franchise as part of its AppleBox Free Family Films program.

The screenings will take place on five consecutive Saturdays at SBIFF’s McHurley Film Center, starting Oct. 17 with the original “Toy Story” and ending Nov. 14 with the recently released “Toy Story 5.”

The AppleBox screening series is made possible through the support of the John C. Mithun Foundation and U.S. Bank.

This marks the first year the AppleBox program will be held at the newly opened McHurley Film Center in Santa Barbara. All screenings are free to the public, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. Complimentary popcorn and refreshments will be provided.

“AppleBox Free Family Films is part of SBIFF’s year-round commitment to providing free educational and cultural programming to the Santa Barbara community,” organizers said.

Each year, SBIFF’s education programs serve more than 18,000 children, students and families throughout Santa Barbara County.

Programs including AppleBox and Mike’s FieldTrip to the Movies introduce young audiences to film as an art form; Rosebud and the Film Studies Program teach film analysis to high school and college students; and Film Camp and the 10-10-10 Mentorship program provide hands-on opportunities to learn the craft of screenwriting and filmmaking.

SBIFF places emphasis on reaching underserved and underrepresented communities throughout Santa Barbara County.
