At Noozhawk, we constantly are working to do more and do better in fulfilling our role as the premier local news source for Santa Barbara County.

To that end, I’m pleased to announce Jack Dindia as the newest member of the Noozhawk flock. He has joined us as a full-time staff writer based in the North County.
It’s always heartening to see the talent and enthusiasm of the next generation, and Jack certainly brings those qualities.
He graduated from UC Santa Barbara in June with a bachelor’s degree in communication and sociology, with a minor in journalism.
During his time at the university, he served as the lead news editor at the Daily Nexus, the school’s student-run news organization (where I spent much of my time at UCSB way back in the day).
He was also a literary intern for The Seymour Agency, and served as a campus tour guide.
Jack impressed us with his passion for journalism and local news, and a desire to tell stories from throughout our community.
Jack grew up in the Yosemite area before moving to the Central Coast, and is now settling in as one of Santa Maria’s newest residents. He will be working with North County Editor Janene Scully to expand our coverage north of the Santa Ynez Mountains.
“I am incredibly excited to join the Noozhawk team,” Jack said. “Through my previous journalism experiences, I quickly realized that I have a passion for serving local communities and giving people the information they deserve.
“I look forward to growing as a journalist alongside such a talented team.”
I hope you will join me in welcoming Jack to the area. He can be reached at jdindia@noozhawk.com.
