Jaclyn Rosen will bring more than a decade of collegiate coaching experience as the new head of the UCSB men’s and women’s swimming program.
Rosen was hired to replace Matt Macedo, who accepted the swimming job at UC Davis. Rosen served as an assistant on Macedo’s staff.
“We are very excited to add Jaclyn in the role of head coach,” said John McCutcheon, Director of Athletics. “She has demonstrated success at every stop of her career and we look forward to seeing that continue as head coach.”
Rosen previously coached at University of San Diego, Bowling Green, Cincinnati and San Jose State, where she started her career.
She swam collegiately at Hawaii.
“I am grateful for this opportunity to lead the Gauchos. and I look forward to guiding and teaching these young men and women and building upon the already strong culture and traditions that are set here at UCSB,” said Rosen. “I also want to thank Matt Macedo, Gregg Wilson, Ellie Monobe, and Mark Stori for teaching me what it means to be a Gaucho. This campus is not only beautiful but the strong academics and competitive swim program makes this a dream job for me. I can’t wait to get started.”
During her time at UCSB, Rosen worked with all swim events, with a focus on the breaststroke group. She had two Olympic Trials qualifiers, a MPSF champion and a school record holder.
Rosen is a native of San Francisco. She earned her master’s of kinesiology in sport studies during her time on the coaching staff at San Jose State and received a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise science, lifestyle management and leisure activity from Hawai’i in 2006.
