Out of the Box Theatre Company presents “Jagged Little Pill” Nov. 14-23 at Center Stage Theater in Santa Barbara. Inspired by the themes and emotions laid bare in Alanis Morissette’s award-winning album, “Jagged Little Pill” is an original story about pain, healing and empowerment.
In the story, The Healys appear to be a picture-perfect suburban family, but looks can be deceiving. When the Healys’ lives are disrupted by a series of disturbing events, they must choose between maintaining the status quo or facing harsh truths about themselves, their community, and the world around them.
With a Tony-winning book by Diablo Cody (Juno) and Grammy-winning score, the production explores the terrible secrets that can tear a family apart… and the love that holds them together.
Note: This production contains strong language, adult themes, drug use, and moments of sexual violence that some may find upsetting. Recommended for audience members 13 and older.
ASL-Interpreted Performance with Pro Bono ASL and post-show talkback is scheduled for the Sunday Nov. 16 performance.
Tickets available through Center Stage Theater box office.
