Jamaica Cook turned in a dominant performance as Carpinteria girls golf took third place out of seven teams in the final Citrus Coast League match of the year at River Ridge Golf Course.

Cook shot a 38, which earned her the medalist spot and was the lowest score of any player in the league this season.

With that performance, the sophomore secured the No. 2 individual spot and an automatic bid into the CIF individual playoffs next Wednesday.

“She had two big birdies and played very cerebrally today with focus and poise I haven’t seen her play with before,” Warriors coach Craig Cook said.

As a team, Carpinteria shot 259, finishing behind the champion Nordhoff and Santa Paula.
