James Mitchell Todd
James Mitchell Todd

James Mitchell Todd was born in National City, California, on Oct. 26, 1970 and went home to the Lord on April 29, 2025 in Santa Barbara.

Jimmy, as he was known, attended Foothill Elementary, La Colina Junior High (where he met his future wife Jeannine Staab), and San Marcos High School.

Jimmy worked as a computer service technician at QAD, Inc. most of his adult life. It was a job he loved because it meant helping people solve problems and working together with other team members to make sure all his customers were satisfied.

He was liked by everyone due to his friendly demeanor and great patience.

As a young boy Jimmy competed in swimming and soccer. As a young man we remember white water rafting and camping on the Payette River in Idaho, and helping out around the church with various odd jobs including keeping the computers running.

He supported the Santa Barbara Christian Homesteaders for many years, designing and creating video displays at the annual graduation ceremonies.

Jimmy was known across Santa Barbara as a funny, confident and compassionate person, who could be counted upon when help was needed.

He dedicated his life to his wife, children and grandchildren.

He was very active in his Christian faith, and had a great love and respect for God’s word, which he studied and taught throughout his life. All his hope and trust was in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jimmy is survived by Jeannine, his wife of 31 years; three children Caleb, Gabriel and Stephanie; three grandchildren Andromeda (Andi), Aria and Ophelia; his parents Alan “Al” and Sonja Todd; and sister Cynthia “Cindy” Harris.

While Jimmy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, we know he is now enjoying an eternity of happiness and joy in the presence of the Lord Jesus.

“Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.” (Psalm 116:15)

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19 at South Coast Baptist Church worship center, 351 Paseo Nuevo (second floor, Paseo Nuevo Mall) in Santa Barbara.
