Bob Faulkner peacefully passed away on May 11, 2019, at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital after suffering an unexpected heart attack on April 29.

Bob was born on April 30, 1958, in Torrance, Calif. He spent his early childhood in Los Angeles and Wisconsin before settling in Santa Barbara, where he attended Vieja Valley Elementary School, La Colina Junior High School, and San Marcos High School.

A lover of the arts, Bob had a successful career as a graphic designer before becoming a freelance photographer. He especially enjoyed shooting weddings, architecture and his family.

Bob loved cross-country train rides, weeklong camping trips, biking around town, and anything related to Hawaii.

Bob will be remembered for his unrelenting kindness, generosity, and unique sense of humor. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends, who feel fortunate to have known him.

He is survived by his loving wife Aki, two sons Kai and Kei, and brother David.

There will be a Celebration of Life service for Bob at 1 p.m. Friday, May 17, at the Santa Barbara Cemetery Chapel, followed immediately by the interment service. Friends and associates are welcome to come and celebrate his life.
