Jeffrey Forster shot a 1-under par 35 over nine holes at Santa Barbara Golf Club to earn medalist  honors and lead the San Marcos boys golf team to a 189-258 victory over Lompoc in a Channel League match on Tuesday.

The Royals (7-1, 10-1 overall) stay in a first-place tie with Dos Pueblos.

Four Royals shot in the 30s. Holdt Gore finished one stroke behind Forster, Graham Chapman shot a 37 and Aaron White a 39.

“We were able to get a couple different players into the match today and we had great results across the board,” said coach Jeff Ashton. “Jeffrey Forster had two birdies and a bogey to earn medalist honors with a 35. Holdt Gore recovered from a double bogey on hole 7 and finished with two birdies to shoot an even-par 36.”
