Jesus Baldemar “Tinker” Vasquez, a loving son, brother and uncle passed away on Monday, Sept. 7, 2020, at Cottage Hospital.
He was born to parents Jess P Vasquez (deceased) and Lorraine F Vasquez (Morelli). He is survived by his mother Lorraine F Vasquez, sister Araceli L Vasquez, brother-in-law Ramon Ortega, nephew Alexander S Ortega, and niece Micaela R Ortega. He is also survived by his aunt Sally Vasquez, uncle Ralph Vasquez, aunt Katy Meraz and uncle Rudy Vasquez.
Tinker was a Santa Barbara native and was very dedicated to his family. He worked in the family’s restaurant, La Jicora, in Isla Vista, where he took great pleasure working side-by-side with his father Jess (deceased), aunt Louise Osuna (deceased), and cousins Judy Castaneda, Carol Osuna, Daniel Osuna and Christine Blaney.
While working, Tinker learned how to cook so many delicious Mexican dishes such as chili verde, chili Colorado, tamales, rice, and beans ,just to name a few.
Tinker has brought joy to so many lives that he touched with his charismatic personality, he was always smiling and willing to help. He loved being around his family and friends and there was always so much love and laughter. He was overjoyed when his nephew Alexander and niece Micaela were born; they had such a special love and bond which created so many everlasting memories together.
They are going to miss their uncle immensely. As a family, we were so fortunate to have Tinker in our lives, we can only find peace in knowing that he is now resting. You will forever be in our hearts and always be loved and missed.
