Have you ever considered the ingredients to any success endeavor? Well, let me share what I believe are the three most critical ingredients to reaching that somewhat elusive position.
Passion, Purpose and Providence can all be found in some fashion in the lives of those who truly stand out in the crowd.
Certainly, there are other factors, but these three are most meaningful to me at least. Which comes first is not important. In fact, I suspect all three are ignited simultaneously.
Let’s address each separately and then discuss corporately.
Perhaps the best positive example of passion can be observed in the exceptional athlete who devotes most of his waking hours to becoming proficient in all facets of his sport.
I’ve been blessed to witness this in one young man in recent years. He lives and breathes his sport, and I’m confident he’ll find some level of success in God’s perfect time.
Passionate pursuit always leads to a certain level of success. If we look beyond the surface, we can see that much work has gone into each purpose-driven life.
Passionate pursuit without purpose is like chasing the wind. It takes you nowhere in particular.
Without grasping goals, we might well find ourselves wandering in circles, much like the Israelites did for nearly 40 years in the wilderness.
Successful businesses not only have a vision but they also have a well-developed mission. They may not know exactly where they are headed, but they will get there in due time.
Sadly, many lose sight of their vision and mission over time and often end up shutting their doors. Let me suggest keeping a tight grip on your purpose and holding on firmly.
In my opinion, the final ingredient we’ll discuss is by far the most critical of all. You see, God’s providence is present in all that is good and of value in this present world.
Certainly many will take exception to that statement and proudly take credit for their individual accomplishments, but the Creator of this Universe has His hand in all, whether we believe it or not.
Yes, our energy and creativity are always significant in our successes, but His love and concern for His creation is personified in His providence.
Let me add one more ingredient that can determine the degree of one’s success. Without Perseverance many, unfortunately, give up and will never meet their full God-given potential.
God has blessed me beyond my expectations and I gladly give Him the glory for the way He has used me so far.
Let me simply conclude with one comment: God has a wonderful plan for all who love Him!
