Dear Inquisitive Pet Parents,
Hello — and woof — again! I have some fabulous news to share with the canine enthusiasts of the 805 area. We are reactivating Dear Inquisitive Canine! It is an honor to return to the Noozhawk community with this doggy advice column.
I envision this feature to be a fun place where inquisitive dog guardians can seek practical guidance and solutions to everyday challenges.
As before, this column is dedicated to pet parents who are interested in a simple, objective, science-based, sensible approach to dog training and behavior.
Please join us for entertaining insights into implementing proven techniques that reward both guardians and dogs.
And while I encourage you to take advantage of the training tips, tools and advice you read here, it’s important to keep in mind that this column is not intended to be a substitute for meeting with a force-free dog trainer in person or virtually.
However, it is a great resource for supplementing any training you have undergone or any education you plan to embark on with your inquisitive canine.
My goal for the column is to inspire inquisitiveness and critical thinking, and I encourage you to email questions about dog behavior or training to advice@theinquisitivecanine.com.
In the meantime, here’s a look back at some questions from other inquisitive dog parents from the Dear Inquisitive Canine archives:
- Trained Dog Reverts to Old Tricks
- Rein in Behavior During Leash Walking
- Basic Training for Changing Bad Dog Behavior
It’s so nice to be back with the great Noozhawk dog-loving community, and I look forward to being on this canine adventure with you!
Woofs and wags,
Joan
