John Michael Flint passed for three touchdowns and 238 yards to lead the Santa Barbara Saints youth football team to a 40-12 win over Fillmore in a Senior Division youth football league game.
Flint also caught a 46-yard touchdown pass from Ian Bartley.
Devin Flores broke a brilliant touchdown run at the end of the half for 58 yards and Ivan Velez had a 10-yard scoring run behind the Saints dominant offensive line.
Bartley led the way in rushing with 107 yards and a touchdown. Landon Nelson and Sam Crawford each caught touchdown passes from Flint.
On defense, Devin Flores made seven solo tackles blocked a punt. Joseph Barrios was a force at linebacker with three tackles for losses. Diego Placencia was lockdown at cornerback, as the Saints shut down the Fillmore passing attack.
The Saints are now 5-0 on the season, with eyes on a league championship and a Super Bowl run.
Bantam Division
The Bantam Saints took on the powerful San Fernando Rush in a tough defensive battle.
The Saints defense held the high-scoring Rush scoreless until the fourth quarter in a 14-6 win.
Nico Frausto connected early with Adrian Sanchez for a 30-yard pass for a touchdown. Frausto would later run one in himself. Jakob Soriano punched an the 2-point conversion and later sealed the victory on defense with a strip tackle to change the course of the game.
The win leaves the Bantams with a 3-2 record on the season.
Sophomores
The Sophomore Saints won their fifth straight game against the Santa Clarita Grizzlies. Their record is now 5-0.
Juniors
Remi Boykin led the 5-0 Junior Saints to a resounding 21-0 victory over Westlake 101.
Boykin had two spectacular touchdown runs and led the defense at linebacker.
Hayden Feleay hauled in a long pass from Boykin to set up a rushing touchdown by Andrew Cordero. Tyler Roberts ran in a 2-point conversion.
Feleay had an interception on Westlake’s final drive to end the game.
River Castellanos and Lucas Blessing also had a solid games on defense with multiple sacks.
