Leading From Within’s Board of Directors welcomes new trustees Jordan Killebrew, of SBCC’s Public Affairs & Communications Department, and Lori Lander Goodman, from LEAP.
“Both are alumni of our programs who bring tremendous leadership, experience, and commitment to our LFW community and Santa Barbara County as a whole”, said Katya Armistead, co-executive director. “We could not be more thrilled to have them join the board.”
Killebrew, who currently serves as SBCC’s executive director of Public Affairs & Communications, previously served as Santa Barbara County District 2 representative, working with County Supervisor Laura Capps; and at the Santa Barbara Foundation as director of communications.
In both roles, his work resembled his passion for strategy, public relations, and relationship building, according to Leading From Within.
Killebrew also founded Project IV Love, the inspiration that helped raise over $50,000 for the Love and Remembrance Garden in Isla Vista in its inaugural year.
The garden is a community effort that honors the students who lost their lives in the Isla Vista shootings in 2014.
“Jordan brings his passion for community to his work with local organizations, including as a co-founder of Juneteenth Santa Barbara and through his involvement with Healing Justice Santa Barbara and Music Academy,” Leading From Within officials said.
Killebrew holds a BFA in graphic design from UC Santa Barbara. He participated in Leading From Within’s Emerging Leaders program in 2017, and just completed the Growing Edge Leaders program. Learn more at JordanKillebrew.com.
Goodman has some 35 years of experience strengthening nonprofits in communities across the U.S. Since 2018, she has served as CEO of LEAP (Learn. Engage. Advocate. Partner).
“Her passion for the success and well-being of children and families, and for building a just, trauma-informed, healthy work culture, is at the center of her leadership,” Leading From Within said.
Before LEAP, Killebrew spent six years as chief development officer at CALM, where she started the I Will Not Be Silent campaign on childhood trauma prevention.
Goodman is an alum of two Leading From Within programs: Courage to Lead and Growing Edge Leaders.
She serves on the board of EveryChildCA and the executive committee of Santa Barbara County Kids Network. She also works with state legislators on early childhood education policy and funding.
Goodman was named 2025 Woman of the Year for California Senate District 21 and received the 2023 Santa Barbara County Women’s Commission Community Service Award.
Goodman holds a BA in Women’s Studies from UC Santa Cruz, an MSW from USC, and a master’s in nonprofit management from Hebrew Union College.
Leading From Within equips community changemakers to grow their ability to lead, collaborate and drive solutions.
