It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Tyrone Holt, 69, a lifelong Santa Barbara native, who died on Nov. 20, 2025.
Born on Aug. 24, 1956 at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, Joseph was the child of Georgia Mae Holt and Lee Rodgers Rosborough.
Joseph grew up in Santa Barbara and graduated from Dos Pueblos High School.

A passionate sports enthusiast, Joseph was a devoted fan of the San Francisco 49ers and the Lakers, holding a special admiration for Kobe Bryant.
He channeled his love for sports into community involvement, coaching various youth sports teams over the years, and enjoyed playing softball himself for 40 years.

Known for his radiant, “mega-watt” smile, Joseph had a zest for life that included dancing, watching his favorite teams play, and spending quality time with family and friends.
He found simple joys in life, such as listening to oldies and R&B music, and watching classic television shows like “Judge Judy” and “The Rifleman.”
Joseph is survived by his loving wife Veronica Hernandez Holt; his cherished daughters Shanelle Holt (and grandson Nathaniel Lynk), Sarah Marsango, and Liyah Natasha Holt; siblings Nettie McKoy Ladd, Yolande Davis, Julie Jordan.
