The three local Channel League teams hit the sand this spring and turned in strong seasons, with several standout individuals shining on each team.

As a result, San Marcos, Dos Pueblos and Santa Barbara each earned several All-League honors.

Leading the charge for the local pairings was the Royals’ duo of junior Josie Gamberdella and sophomore Cora Loomer, which was named the Channel League MVP Pair.

Gamberdella and Loomer were the No. 1 pairing for San Marcos, who took home the Channel League championship after an undefeated league season.

San Marcos

The Royals finished the year atop the Channel League, and led the league in All-League honorees with 10 total players.

Gamberdella and Loomer were named to the All-League First Team alongside Elena Thomas and Evyn Miller.

They also had four athletes on the All-League Second Team with the pairings of Kaylin Cooney/Paige Hoadley and Katie Kracke/Samantha Fallon.

Rounding out the list for the Royals as All-League Honorable Mentions was Isla McClintock and Reese Paskin.

Dos Pueblos

The Chargers also found some success on the beach this season, earning eight total All-League honorees.

The lone All-League First Team players for Dos Pueblos was the team’s No. 1 duo of Halle Rillie and Jayden Jones.

Meanwhile, the pairing of Addie Low and Maddy Jones played their way to spots on the All-League Second Team.

The Chargers also had two separate duos named All-League Honorable Mentions in Layla McQuiggan/Anelle Preibe-Garcia and Lia Papador/Eleni Becker.

Santa Barbara High

The Dons capped off the local teams represented with players at each level of All-League honor.

On the first team, Santa Barbara High was represented by their top duo of Keenan Engebretson and Gwen Chenoweth.

Lucy Fisher and Stella Borgioli graced the All-League Second Team for the Dons.

Finally, Christa Moelleken-Lezama earned the title of All-League Honorable Mention.
