
Juan “Obi-Juan” Lopez, aged 39, passed away on June 29, 2024, in Santa Barbara. Born on Aug. 28, 1984, Juan was known for his energetic and charming personality, marked by a contagious laugh and a beautiful smile that could light up any room. His dark brown eyes and lively spirit were beloved by all who knew him.
Juan devoted his life to his family and his career. He worked alongside his father for many years before embarking on a successful career at Vons, where he rose to the position of deli manager, and was training to become a general manager.
Juan’s commitment to his family was profound. He was a dedicated partner to Christina Godinez for nearly 22 years, and a loving father to his children Juan N. Lopez, Trinity Monique, Adrian Felix, and stepson Robert Martinez. He also cherished his role as a grandfather to Noa May.
His hobbies included going for drives in the countryside, enjoying movie nights with his family, and annual trips to Disneyland. Every Christmas season, he made it a tradition to take his family to see the festive lights, creating lasting memories.
Juan is survived by his partner Christina Godinez; his children Juan N. Lopez, Trinity Monique, and Adrian Felix; stepson Robert Martinez; granddaughter Noa May; father Juan Lopez and stepmother Maria Lopez; mother Maria Cervantes; siblings Octavio, Alex, Gabby and Adrianna; numerous nieces and nephews; and his adored cat Mochi.
He was preceded in death by his son Emmanuel Lopez and brother Jaime Jaimes Cervantes.
Juan’s legacy of kindness, laughter, and dedication to his loved ones will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were fortunate to know him.
Services were held on July 22.
