Julia Ruby Ramos, age 45, died peacefully at home on July 7, 2020, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Julia was a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and a firm understanding of what was important — the simplicity of living a life with those you love; the latter being something we all can learn from her.
Julia is survived by her parents, three brothers, two sisters, boyfriend, nine nieces, three nephews, three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, but most importantly her proudest accomplishments, her daughters Nayely and Nydia Reyes.
Since the birth of Nayely, 17 years ago, Julia put her life on hold and her one mission was for her daughters to learn from her mistakes and experience life like she never got to do herself, along the way instilling the importance of education and teaching them to push themselves beyond their perceived limitations.
Julia was the true definition of “Mama Bear.” She would sacrifice her life for those of her two daughters. Even during her last days on this earth, her biggest concern were her daughters, not this dreadful disease that took her way too early from us.
Julia has left a little bit of herself with everyone she touched. When you think of Julia, don’t think about her in her final days, that is not the Julia we all know and love. Think about the one that was always smiling and laughing, for we all know she will be deeply missed.
Services were held on July 9 at Dudley Hoffman Mortuary in Santa Maria. Church services took placde July 10 at St. Joseph’s Church in Nipomo. A Celebration of Life followed at Mi Ranchito, also in Nipomo.
