To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Junior League of Santa Barbara (JLSB), the organization will be awarding $100,000 in grants, 10 times more than ever before, to local nonprofits.

Santa Barbara County nonprofits are invited to apply for Community Assistance Funds (CAF) through Friday, April 11.

JLSB is a nonprofit of women whose mission is to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration and training.

To extend its reach to address the Santa Barbara community’s greatest needs, JLSB partners with local nonprofits to make its vision to improve the lives of at-risk youth and families a reality.

All applications will be considered, JLSB said; however, priority for funding consideration will be given to Santa Barbara nonprofits whose projects or programs align with the league’s current philanthropic focus area:

Improving the lives of at-risk youth by educating and empowering them to reach their full potential while working to prevent exploitation and injustice in our community.

Applicants with a broader, or adjacent focus are still encouraged to apply.

Follow this link for instructions and the CAF application. Be sure to be as detailed and thorough as possible. For more about the application process, visit JLSantaBarbara.org/community-assistance-funds.

In 2024, a total of $10,000 of CAF grants were awarded through JLSB to seven nonprofits providing a range of support to at-risk youth and families.

The 2024 grant recipients included Apples to Zucchini Cooking School, Child Abuse Listening Mediation (CALM), Community Counseling and Education Center, Gwendolyn Strong Foundation, Lynda Fairly Carpinteria Arts Center, Santa Barbara Education Foundation, and Santa Barbara Police Activities League.
