The Junior League of Santa Barbara (JLSB) will host its 86th Anniversary Rummage Sale Saturday, March 9 at Carrillo Recreation Center with a pre-sale shopping event on Friday, March 8.
The annual event will be 6-9 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday. Tickets for Friday’s pre-sale are $25 and will be available in advance online.
Established in 1934, the community-based sale is one of Santa Barbara’s longest
standing charity events. It benefits the JLSB’s mission and provides low-cost, new and
gently used merchandise to the community at affordable prices.
Admission to the sale on Saturday is free and open to the general public.
Billed as Santa Barbara’s largest indoor garage sale, the event offers thousands of new, almost-new and gently-used items for sale including baby items, clothing for all, art, housewares, appliances, kitchen and dining wares.
Funds raised support JLSB’s work in the community, including training its members to be effective community leaders while partnering with other nonprofits aligned with the JLSB’s mission and focus area to further the league’s impact.
This includes JLSB’s current signature project, S.A.F.E. House Santa Barbara, a six-bed residential shelter for girls ages 12-18; and Living Arrows, two six-bed residential shelters, one for boys and one for girls for ages 18-21.
The homes are located in Santa Barbara County for survivors of sexual exploitation and sex trafficking.
Funds raised will also assist traffickSTOP, a community awareness campaign aimed at helping local residents know the facts; know the signs; and know what to do if a case of trafficking is suspected.
