Kathy Ramirez-Gijon tied for medalist honors and Maggie Tang shot a personal best score, leading the Dos Pueblos girls golf team to a 246-261 victory over Cabrillo at Glen Annie Golf Course on Thursday.
The win evened DP’s record to 3-3 in Channel League and 5-4 overall.
“Cabrillo beat us pretty well up at their course, so we knew we would have to shoot well to get them at our course, and we did,” said DP coach Dan Choi. “All of the girls were either at or very close to their season or all-time best.
“I was really happy for Kathy who is one of the hardest-working kids that I know and has really been frustrated with being in the 50s.”
Ramirez-Gijon shared medalist honors with Kelsey Bruner of Cabrillo. Tang shot a 49 to tie with Julia Schniepp.
