Santa Barbara County water rescue crews helped three kayakers safely back to shore Thursday afternoon after a call for help.
Around 2:30 p.m., a group of three kayakers called for help when their kayaks were taking on water, about 1.6 miles off Coal Oil Point in Goleta.
Santa Barbara County Fire Department water rescue crews used personal watercraft to reach them, Capt. Scott Safechuck said.
“None of the kayakers were wearing life jackets,” he noted.
No injuries were reported, and Santa Barbara Harbor Patrol officers helped the kayakers get to the harbor, Safechuck said.
