A Goleta care home worker was arrested and criminally charged last week for alleged sexual abuse of patients.

The Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office filed criminal charges Thursday against Kayode Agbolade Ogunba, 61, of Los Angeles, alleging forcible sexual penetration by foreign object and lewd act on a dependent adult on two women in November 2025.
The complaint includes the special allegation of more than one victim, and aggravating factors that the victims were particularly vulnerable and the defendant took advantage of a position of trust or confidence to commit the offenses.
The two alleged incidents of a lewd act on a dependent adult occurred while Ogunba was working as a caretaker, the complaint says.
Ogunba pleaded not guilty to the allegations during an arraignment hearing on Thursday.
Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Raquel Zick said detectives started investigating the case on Nov. 3, 2025, after a Goleta care home on South Patterson Avenue reported that two people had been sexually assaulted by Ogunba, a certified nursing assistant.
Detectives arrested him in Los Angeles on Jan. 20 on a Santa Barbara County arrest warrant, and he was booked into jail custody, Zick said.
He remained in custody as of Monday with bail set at $100,000, according to custody records.
“During the investigation, detectives learned that similar allegations involving Ogunba had previously been reported in the Los Angeles area,” Zick said.
“Investigators also believe Ogunba may have worked as a CNA in other states, including Washington and Texas, within the past seven years.”
Sheriff’s detectives publicly released Ogunba’s booking photo, and are asking people with information, or who believe they may have been victimized, to come forward, Zick said.
