As the 10th Annual Lemon Run moves toward the starting line, community members are invited to put on their running shoes and join the Goleta Education Foundation (GEF) for the celebration, Sunday, Sept. 21 at Lake Los Carneros.
The Lemon Run is a community event dedicated to helping local schools. Proceeds from the run directly support all nine elementary schools in the Goleta Union School District (GUSD), helping fund innovative educator grants and professional development programs.
The festivities start at 8 a.m. with the 10K Grand Prix, followed by the 5K Jr. Grand Prix at 9:30 a.m., and a 1K Fun Run at 10:30 a.m.
The course, which runs through the scenic trails of Lake Los Carneros, is open to runners and walkers of all ages and skill levels.
The Lemon Run will feature activities, prizes from local businesses, lawn games for children, a food truck, and Kona Ice.
Limited parking is available at Stow House and the Anthem Church parking lot next door, so early arrival is suggested. The Stow House lot closes at 8 a.m.
The following green transportation options are recommended:
1. Ride your bike – Bike Valet with Move SB will be available.
2. Carpool with family and friends from your neighborhood; additional carpool parking is available at Deckers Brand Showcase, 6601 Hollister Ave.
3. Drop-off area and valet available in front of the Train Depot in the Stow House parking lot.
There will be overflow parking at Los Carneros Business Center, 6465 Calle Real, and on the street and in the residential areas along the preserve on Covington Way and La Patera Lane.

The 10th Annual Lemon Run is also calling for sponsors.
“Are you a local business or community leader looking to make a difference? Consider becoming a sponsor,” organizers said. “Your partnership helps fund innovative teaching, equitable resources, and stronger classrooms across the GUSD.
“Sponsorships come with high-visibility benefits and lasting community impact. Every dollar makes a difference.”
Youth scholarships are available for elementary-school-aged children. To register your child for free, email info@goletaed.org or come to bib pickup and in-person sign-ups, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 at the Deckers Brand Showcase, 6601 Hollister Ave.
