Laguna Blanca 8-man football fell to Santa Clarita Christian by a score of 47-32 on Saturday night.
The Owls are now 4-1 heading into their bye week, with the next game coming at home against Malibu High on Friday, Oct. 23.
“I’m really proud of our guys for finding a way to keep the offense moving,” Laguna Blanca head coach Matt Escobar said. “With several players having to sub at new positions, they stepped up big for us and never quit. I saw them grow a lot as young football players.
“Although we made several mistakes, we saw much improvement throughout the game.”
After Laguna Blanca fell behind 21-6 early in the game, it bounced back with 26 points down the stretch to make it a respectable final score.
Kevin Castillo spearheaded the Owls’ rushing attack, scoring a pair of touchdowns and coming down with several strong receptions.
