Laguna Blanca School has named Daniel Boateng as Head Coach for the Girls Soccer program. Boateng brings a rich background in elite competitive play, youth program leadership, and a strong dedication to empowering student-athletes both on and off the field.
A former NCAA Division I student-athlete at the University of Notre Dame, Boateng helped lead the Fighting Irish to the 2023 NCAA College Cup Semifinals and a National Runner-Up finish. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Notre Dame’s Keough School of Global Affairs in December 2025.
Boateng holds a U.S. Soccer Coaching National D License, completed in May 2026, which focuses on creating inclusive environments, purposeful training, and team development. Currently serving as the Director of the Boys’ Program at Legends Futbol Academy in Santa Barbara—where he coaches the U14 Elite and U13 teams—Boateng brings proven experience in structuring competitive training and mentoring young athletes.
“We are thrilled to welcome Daniel to lead our girls soccer program,” said Dan Peeters, Athletic Director. “His experience at Notre Dame speaks for itself, but what stands out most is how his coaching approach reflects Laguna’s framework to prepare, inspire, and connect. Daniel ensures his players are technically and mentally prepared to succeed, inspires them to hold high standards of accountability, and builds deep team connections that extend well past the pitch.”
Beyond coaching, Boateng is the founder of Changing Lives GH, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2023 to advance education, mentorship, and health resources for youth in Ghana.
“Daniel’s work off the field exemplifies what it means to be an engaged, global leader,” added Peeters. “Our student-athletes will benefit immensely from his background both as a Division I competitor and as someone who models balance, character, and service every day.”
Prior to his collegiate career, Boateng was a captain and MVP at Cate School, where he was awarded the Santa Barbara Athletic Roundtable Womble Ethics in Sports Award.
