The Owls were led by a strong showing from Ella Osley in singles play, as she punched her ticket to the singles championship on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.

Osley began the day with a 6-0, 6-4 win in the quarterfinals before pulling out a comeback upset victory over Cate’s Jade Wang, 4-6, 7-6 (7-2), 10-8. With that win, she also clinched a spot in the CIF-SS Individual Sectionals in November.

Meanwhile, Hali Wight captured a 6-0, 6-0 victory in the singles quarterfinals before falling in the semifinals. She will be back in action competing for third place on Thursday.

In doubles action, the Owl pairing of Tatiana Taylor and Maddy Osley earned a 6-3, 6-4 win in the quarterfinals and dropped their semifinal matchup with Cate’s Ivy Huang and Lisa Hasebe.

Taylor and Osley will have a chance to finish in third place in the league on Thursday.

Paisley Thomson and Stella Frank rounded out the Laguna Blanca competitors, earning a win in the Round of 16 before dropping their match in the quarterfinals to Cate’s Chelsea Newlove and Elly Edwards.
