Laguna Blanca School is thrilled to announce the appointment of Jeff Thompson as the new Head Coach of the Girls Tennis Program.

Coach Thompson brings an incredible wealth of experience, a deep passion for the sport, and a coaching philosophy that aligns perfectly with Laguna Blanca’s commitment to character, scholarship, and community.
For over three decades, Thompson has been a cornerstone of the Santa Barbara tennis community.
His tennis journey began at the age of five in Dallas, Texas, where he excelled as a junior player, earning a top 10 ranking in the state and placing in the top 100 nationally.
At age 18, his love for the game naturally transitioned into coaching. He began his professional career at the Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks before making Santa Barbara his home at age 24.
Most notably, Thompson spent decades teaching at the Knowlwood Tennis Club in Montecito, where he achieved outstanding success coaching junior players—guiding multiple athletes to national rankings—and leading highly competitive Women’s Interclub teams.
He currently serves as a teaching professional at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club.
“We are incredibly excited to welcome Jeff to the Owls family,” said Athletic Director Dan Peeters. “His exceptional track record as a player and coach speaks for itself, but it is his dedication to character development and community that makes him the perfect fit for Laguna Blanca.
“Jeff understands that success on the court goes hand-in-hand with building confidence and integrity off the court. We look forward to seeing our student-athletes thrive under his leadership.”
