Laguna Blanca girls volleyball took down Providence in three straight sets on Friday, 25-14, 25-13, 25-11.
“Laguna was just a different caliber team than we’ve played all season, but playing a couple leagues up for us was an incredibly valuable experience for our team heading into CIF playoffs,” Providence coach Dan Terry said.
The Owls (10-14) were celebrating Senior Night, honoring Sarah Woodhouse, Natalie Bianchi, Paloma Lujan, Regina Lujan and Lily Rice.
Woodhouse led the attack for Laguna Blanca, turning in a solid all-around performance of 10 kills, seven aces and six digs. Bianchi added in six kills and six digs while Paloma Lujan chipped in five digs.
For the Patriots, Olivia Leflang led the team offensively with five kills and Kate Douglas spearheaded the defensive efforts with five digs as well.
It was great to see the girls test themselves against such a great team and all things considered, our girls played great,” Terry said. “We’re super grateful for the opportunity.”
