The Laguna Blanca boys swept the nine singles sets on the way to a 12-6 win over Santa Barbara Friday at Hope Ranch’s Furukawa Tennis Center.
Owls singles players Ben Rodgers, Aden Meisel and Kai Suzuki completed the sweep.
The Dons prevailed in the doubles, 6-3. The Santa Barbara teams of Logan Cochrane/Ravi Pandya and Erik Scholl/Matthew Rogers swept their sets.
Laguna Blanca is now 3-0 on the season and hosts Carpinteria on Tuesday.
Santa Ynez Beach Volleyball
Santa Ynez’s girls beach volleyball team swept Mission Prep in a non-league match Friday at Sunny Fields Park.
The Pirates’ No. 1 team of Kaki Allen and Sadie Lishman won 21-9, 15-21, 15-7. Hannah Allen and Cailin Glover took the No. 2 match, 21-14, 21-19 and Aliyah Cabrera and Gianna Pecile won at No. 3, 21-14, 21-8.
“The girls’ played solid across the board,” Santa Ynez head coach Melissa Rogers said. “We had some crazy wind, which is tough to play in, but they controlled the ball and stayed focused on utilizing the conditions to their advantage.”
