Laguna Blanca fought from behind all match long and eventually fell to Hemet-West Valley in four sets in a CIF-SS Division 7 second-round girls volleyball match on Saturday at Merovick Gym. The scores were 22-25, 25-20, 25-7, 25-18.
“We ran into a good team today and unfortunately we couldn’t sustain any consistent momentum,” said coach Jason Donnelly. “We had big deficits early in all four games and it was just too much of a hill to climb.”
Lola Hall had a double-double of 10 kills and 10 digs and Sarah Woodhouse posted nine kills, seven digs and two service aces to lead the Owls, who finished the season at 12-4 and champions of the Frontier League.
“These girls battled until the end I am very proud of their efforts today, and throughout the season,” said Donnelly.
