Finn Walker had nine kills and three aces to help Laguna Blanca to a sweep of Bishop Diego in Tri-Valley play.
In their season opener, the Owls won by scores of 25-23, 25-18, 25-20 at home.
Thomas Couvillion added eight kills and Freddie Russell seven, and Jack Shiebler distributed 36 assists.
“It was a nice first match for us,” Laguna Blanca coach Jason Donnelly said. “We had some nervous energy early on, which was expected as we hadn’t competed in over a year. The boys settled down nicely and got better throughout the match.
“A balanced offensive attack was what we were looking for and it was nice to see Jack spread the ball around to all of our hitters.”
Next week, the Owls play at Foothill Tech on Wednesday and at San Marcos on Friday.
