Landon Lassahn had a monster game for the Santa Ynez boys basketball, recording a double-double of 24 points and 20 rebounds to lead the Pirates to a 58-47 win over Dos Pueblos on Monday night.
“We had a hard time stopping Landon tonight. He had a good game and played really well,” said DP coach Joe Zamora.
It was the first 20-20 game for Lassahn.
Ryan Devitt added 10 points and Scottie Bunch and Warren Zhang each had nine for the Pirates (3-1 in league).
“I’m very proud of my players tonight,” Santa Ynez coach Walter Tyler said. “They showed our high intensity at the defensive end , which truly helped us to secure the win”
The Pirates outscored the DP 16-9 in the second quarter to take a 31-26 led at the half.
Joaquin Riker scored 13 points and Kael Rillie had 11 for the Chargers.
“We had a lot of turnovers tonight and were not able to convert on the offensive end,” said DP coach Joe Zamora. “Kael and Joaquin did a good job getting their teammates involved, but we came up short.”
Dos Pueblos, 1-5 in league and 1-6 overall, plays Cabrillo on Tuesday.
