The Santa Barbara Vintners Association’s signature event, the Vintners Festival, will take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14 at Vega Vineyard & Farm in Buellton.

This year marks the fall festival’s 39th year.

Vega Vineyard is located at 9496 Santa Rosa Road, just off Highway 101.

“The festival will return to a winery this year,” said Alison Laslett, CEO of the Vintners Association.

Previous events took place in parks in Buellton, and Lompoc. The newer Vega Vineyards includes gorgeous views, estate vineyards and spacious grounds.

Attendees will have the opportunity to sample a diverse selection of wines that showcase the unique terroir and craftsmanship of Santa Barbara County’s award-winning region, ranging cooler-climate pinot noirs and chardonnays to syrahs, grenache and even cabernet sauvignons.

In addition to wines, the festival will feature a selection of regional cuisine from dozens of esteemed restaurants, chefs and food producers.

The event will offer guests the opportunity to meet winemakers and winery owners who will share their insights and stories about the wines. Attendees will learn why Wine Enthusiast Magazine named Santa Barbara County the Wine Region of the Year in 2021.

Back by popular request will be live music by The Coals, and culinary and viticultural demonstrations.

Festival tickets are available via sbcountywines.com.

The festival’s website is sbvintnersweekend.com.

The Santa Barbara Vintners Association, founded in 1983, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and supporting Santa Barbara County’s wine industry.

The goal of the association, which represents more than 200 wineries and vineyards, is to educate and inspire wine enthusiasts, foster collaboration among industry professionals and champion the distinctive qualities of Santa Barbara County wines.

Paso Robles wins 2023 USA Today Readers’ Choice Award

In July, the 2023 USA TODAY “10Best Readers’ Choice” travel award contest named Paso Robles “Best Wine Region.”

A complete list of winners can be found at 10best.com/awards/travel/best-wine-region-2023/.

“We are thrilled and honored to be named the Best Wine Region in the USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice travel award contest,” said Joel Peterson, executive director of the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance.

“This recognition is a testament to the exceptional craftsmanship of our winemakers and the warm hospitality of our community. We invite wine enthusiasts from around the world to visit Paso Robles and experience the beauty and flavors that make our region truly special.”

Paso Robles Wine Country Launches Paso Wine App

The Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance, the organization marketing the Paso Robles wine region, announced in August its new mobile application — the Paso Wine App.

Visitors to the region now can learn details with the click of a finger. The free app is available for download on all Apple and Android devices. The Paso Wine app acts as a guide to connect visitors with wine country.

“The Paso Wine App is bringing a new level of convenience to visitors,” said Peterson. “As part of our dedication to promoting Paso Robles wine country, this app helps to honor that commitment by featuring nearly 300 businesses — including wineries, restaurants and lodging partners — as well as many more assets that make a visit to Paso Robles wine country memorable.”

The app’s development was a collaborative effort, with the PRWCA partnering with the team at Provindre, as well as Kraftwerk Design for the app’s user-friendly design.
