From the pool to the court, Carpinteria High athletics turned in several strong team campaigns competing in the Citrus Coast League this fall.
Standout student-athletes led the charge, and they were rewarded with All-Citrus Coast League honors.
Boys Water Polo
The Warriors finished atop the Citrus Coast League water polo standings this fall with a record of 5-1, resulting in head coach Russo Levasseur being named the Co-Coach of the Year alongside Nordhoff’s Adrianna Bese.
In the pool, Carpinteria was led on both ends by senior Jake Ehlers, who capped off his high school career in style with a Citrus Coast League Most Valuable Player award.
His fellow seniors Sky Korling, Taison Lee and Micah Smith were instrumental to the team’s success as well and were rewarded as members of the All-League First Team.
Meanwhile, senior Sam Medel and junior Stefano Piccoletti played their way onto spots on the All-League Second Team.
The tandem of senior Massimo Bonilla-Zakosek, junior Chris Reed and junior Ryder Shaw all made their impacts felt on their way to All-League Honorable Mention nods.
Girls Tennis
Carpinteria dominated the Citrus Coast League this fall, rolling to a 12-0 record thanks in part to a stellar season from League Singles MVP sophomore Aubrey Alcaraz.
Meanwhile, the sister duo of senior Charlotte Cooney and freshman Caroline Cooney came together to earn the Citrus Coast League Doubles MVP award.

Junior Izzy Scott shined on the Warrior singles lineup, while the underclass duo of sophomore Emily Banks and freshman Cailyn Gillen put together a strong campaign. As a result, the trio was named to the All-Citrus Coast League First Team.
As for the All-League Honorable Mention selections, Carpinteria was represented by senior singles standout Abigail Gobbell and the junior pairing of Mina Handall and Sadie West.
Football
Carpinteria put together a solid season on the gridiron, falling just one game short of a return to the CIF-SS playoffs with a 2-3 league record.
The Warriors relied heavily on the trio of senior Drew Filippini, senior Chris Jaimes and junior Caleb Kelly on both sides of the ball en route to their All-Citrus Coast League First Team selections.
Fellow two-way standouts senior Eli Perez, junior Isaac Neri, junior Edwin Nova and sophomore Erasmo Frausto made key impacts for Carpinteria and were selected to the All-League Second Team.
Junior Peter Casas, sophomore Gabriel Chung and freshman Brayden Real gave Warrior fans plenty to look forward to next season with All-Citrus Coast League Honorable Mention campaigns.
Girls Volleyball
The youthful Warrior volleyball squad struggled a bit this season, but sophomore setter Evelyn Aviles-Moreno provided a bright spot with an All-League Second Team campaign.
Meanwhile, the trio of junior opposite Leona McClellan, junior middle Isla Moore and sophomore outside hitter Samantha Sanchez pulled in All-League Honorable Mention honors.
Girls Cross Country
The Warrior girls raced their way to a second-place finish in the Citrus Coast League behind stellar showings by All-League First Team members junior Jaqueline Guadian and sophomore Mila Martins.
Senior Giarys Gomez and junior Victoria Martinez contributed solid times as well en route to All-League Honorable Mentions.
Boys Cross Country
The Carpinteria boys placed fourth in the Citrus Coast League, led by All-League Second Team performances from senior Edwin Hernandez and junior Max Soto.
Sophomore Aaron Ortega also turned in a solid season of his own, earning an All-League Honorable Mention selection.
Girls Golf
While Carpinteria High placed third in the Citrus Coast League, it had the top golfer in the league all season in Jamaica Cook. She was the medalist in all but one match this season for the Warriors and was named the Citrus Coast League Most Valuable Player.
Her teammate, Sophia Garay, was just behind her on most scorecards and registered an All-League Second Team worthy season.
