Santa Barbara City College’s iRaices: First Year and Beyond! program, in partnership with local Chumash and Indigenous community leaders, will host Reclaiming Our Space, an Indigenous Peoples’ Day Celebration, 5-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14 on SBCC’s West Cliff Campus.

Community members are invited to attend the free event and learn about the significance and symbolism of the Chumash signage on SBCC’s West Campus Bluffs; and hear a panel discussion with Annette Cordero, Stephen Franco, Maura Sullivan, and Solange Aguilar.

The event will include:

• Reception at SBCC West Cliff Campus Bluffs with light refreshments, 5-5:30 p.m.
• Signage Blessing, 5:30-6 p.m.
• Panel Discussion at SBCC Jurkowitz Theater, 6-7 p.m.
