The Santa Maria Public Library, in partnership with the Planes of Fame Air Museum, will host a presentation on Santa Maria’s future aviation museum, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1 in the library’s Shepard Hall, 421 S. McClelland St.
Presenter Jim Bray will spotlight the museum’s exhibits, educational programs, flight demonstrations and entertainment. A Q&A session will follow the presentation.
The Chino (California)-based Planes of Fame Air Museum has landed several approvals from the Santa Maria Planning Commission to expand the museum, in phases, to a 12-acre site south of the Santa Maria Radisson Hotel.
The Planes of Fame Air Museum strives to build a world-renowned interactive center at the Santa Maria Airport to preserve aviation history, inspire interest in aviation, educate the public, and honor aviation pioneers and veterans.
Seating for the Feb. 1 event is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
