Supporting an aging parent can be one of the most emotional and overwhelming chapters in a family’s life, especially when important real estate and financial decisions are involved.

To help educate families about making such decisions, two seminars will be held Sept. 18 at Maravilla and Sept. 24 in Uptown Santa Barbara, both hosted by Tierney & Co.

Lunch will be provided; all attendees need to do is show up.

Led by Melissa Tierney, senior transition specialist and certified real estate planner, the seminar presenters include an attorney, financial planner, lender, and real estate planner talking about:

• The 21 Responsibilities of Trustees and how to plan ahead before a crisis strikes
• Options for tired landlords seeking to step away from property management while maintaining steady income.
• How to leverage real estate to build a legacy and avoid costly mistakes that could impact the whole family.

“These decisions can feel overwhelming, but no family should have to navigate them alone,” said Tierney. “Retirement may be a personal decision, but it’s truly a family affair.
“We built this seminar series to give families the tools, knowledge, and confidence they need to protect their loved ones and their legacy.”
