Montessori Center School (MCS) will host an open house, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at 401 N. Fairview Ave., No. 1, Goleta. The event is designed to show local families the benefits of a Montessori Center School education. MCS is accepting applications now for fall enrollment; financial aid is available.
MCS has been providing individualized Montessori education to children in the Santa Barbara area for some 50 years.
Affiliated with the American Montessori Society and offering the only Montessori elementary program in the area, MCS helps children ages 18 months through sixth grade develop into independent, self-motivated, confident, life-long learners.
Situated on a garden campus, the MCS facilities and outdoor space are integral to the students’ daily experience. The MCS educational philosophy fosters a love of learning by encouraging children to work at their own pace while offering an adaptable curriculum responsive to students’ interests and needs.
Low student-teacher ratios facilitate personalized attention. The MCS environments are equipped with multisensory, self-correcting materials unique to Montessori which supports students’ comprehension from the concrete to the abstract.
MCS offers educational field trips at every age level, before- and after-school care, STEAM activities, extracurricular offerings, and a summer camp program. Weekly enrichment programs include Spanish, music, art, drama, physical education, and computer technology.
Open house reservations are appreciated, but drop-ins welcome. Contact admissions director Alyssa Morris at a.morris@mcssb.org, 805-683-9383 ext. 104.
